Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a senior engineering leader to manage a team of mobile developers responsible for delivering features across digital content, products and services. You will oversee design, development, testing and deployment of mobile systems, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with cross-functional teams and stay aligned with long-term corporate goals, while developing budgets and driving innovative solutions in a dynamic healthcare retail

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with at least 4 years in software engineering or 7+ years with a HS diploma.
Experience with programming languages for online apps, microservices or mobile apps.
Experience leading agile teams and working across multiple teams.
Experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

Manages a team of mobile developers responsible for providing desired functionality to digital content, products or services.
Manages the development, testing and implementation of mobile systems that meets established specifications on time and within budget.
Analyzes and investigates applications engineering tasks and prepares design specifications, analysis, and recommendations.
Manages the activities of mobile applications, enhancements and new products including cloud based or internet-related programs.
Oversees the analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of computer programs for commercial or end user applications.
Ensures that features deployed have technical integrity and stability.
Understands short and long-term goals and recommends technical solutions and services.
May develop budget for functional area. Manages budget to plan. May be accountable for area budget and delivering against business goals/objectives.
Stays abreast of industry leading best practices and brings them to the attention of the leadership team for innovative application. May develop partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to meet business needs.
Allocates available resources to meet operating objectives. Develops and mentors staff through onboarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.
