Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited program.
  • Active, unrestricted independent licensure in the state as an LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, Psychologist, or equivalent.
  • Ability to conduct clinical and risk assessments and crisis interventions independently.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced mobile behavioral health crisis services including de-escalation and safety planning.
  • Conduct crisis and risk assessments in the community and determine appropriate levels of care.
  • Provide brief interventions and develop crisis or initial treatment plans as needed.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, schools, hospitals, and community organizations to access resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all contacts and interventions in compliance with standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and provide clinical leadership during complex cases.

***Sign-On Bonus***$2500 paid at time of hire$2500 paid after 6 monthsPOSITION SUMMARY:The Mobile Crisis Therapist II provides rapid, community-based crisis assessment, intervention, and short-term stabilization for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. Services are delivered where the crisis occurs including homes, schools, shelters, and other community locations, with telehealth used when appropriate. The role prioritizes diversion from jail, emergency departments, and psychiatric hospitalization when clinically appropriate and consistent with least restrictive care. This position functions as part of a mobile crisis team and collaborates closely with the broader crisis continuum to ensure timely assessment, coordinated clinical recommendations, and access to appropriate services. Services may include brief individual, family, or group interventions and collaborative treatment planning as clinically appropriate during crisis stabilization and follow up. All services are delivered using trauma informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered practices with a focus on safety, dignity, and least restrictive care.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Deliver advanced mobile behavioral health crisis services including de-escalation, safety planning, stabilization, and functional support to reduce unnecessary emergency department visits, hospitalization, and legal involvementConduct comprehensive crisis, diagnostic, and risk assessments in the community and determine appropriate levels of care, including for individuals with OUD and co-occurring disordersProvide brief individual, family, or group therapeutic interventions and independently develop crisis care plans or initial treatment plans as clinically appropriateProvide clinical consultation, guidance, and support to Mobile Crisis Therapist I, peer support staff, and other team members as neededCollaborate with the Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist and other team members to ensure coordinated care planning and service deliveryCoordinate with law enforcement, healthcare providers, schools, DCBS, hospitals, jails, courts, and community organizations to resolve crises and facilitate access to appropriate resourcesProvide consultation, education, and collaborative problem solving with community partners related to crisis response and behavioral health careDevelop individualized crisis plans that focus on least restrictive interventions and promote recovery-oriented careMaintain accurate, timely, and high-quality documentation of all client contacts, assessments, interventions, and referrals in accordance with organizational and regulatory standardsParticipate in quality improvement activities, program development, and advanced training related to crisis intervention and evidence-based practicesProvide clinical leadership during complex or high-risk cases and serve as a resource for the crisis teamWork alternate schedules and participate in on call coverage as needed to meet 24/7 program needsPerform other related duties as assigned within the scope of independent licensure and trainingQUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited programActive, unrestricted independent licensure in the state as an LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, Psychologist, or equivalentDemonstrated ability to independently conduct clinical and risk assessments and provide appropriate crisis intervention servicesStrong knowledge of crisis intervention principles, suicide risk assessment, and trauma informed careStrong verbal communication, written documentation, and clinical decision-making skillsAbility to function independently in high acuity and rapidly changing environmentsAbility to provide clinical guidance and support to team members as neededJOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS:Ability to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer for clinical documentationAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout a variety of service environments as requiredMay require transporting individuals as part of job duties and must maintain a valid driver’s license and active insurance if applicableWork is performed in variable environments that may involve exposure to individuals in acute emotional distressCrisis services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
