Job summary

Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Mobile Crisis Service Provider to respond to behavioral health crises in the Machias outpatient office and surrounding community.

This full-time role involves assessment, de-escalation, and short-term support, collaborating with law enforcement and hospitals to ensure safety and connected care. Qualifications

  • MHRT-CSP certification required or eligible for certification.
  • 36 months of direct behavioral health experience (4,992 hours) preferred.
  • Completion of 30 college credits hours and/or an associate's degree in a related field with 1,664 hours of direct behavioral health experience or MHRT-CSP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to crisis calls in homes, public places, and with law enforcement.
  • Evaluate individuals in crisis and help stabilize their situation.
  • Develop crisis plans and connect individuals with services.
  • Support families and community members affected by a crisis.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, hospitals, and treatment providers.
  • Educate the public about available crisis services and resources.
  • Facilitate crisis stabilization groups and follow up with clients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Are you passionate about behavioral health and crisis intervention?

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate full-time Mobile Crisis Service Provider to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of individuals facing emotional and behavioral health crises in our Machias Outpatient Office.

As a Mobile Crisis Provider, you will respond to urgent behavioral health situations in the community—at homes, schools, homeless shelters, public spaces, etc, providing assessment, de-escalation, and short-term support.

You’ll work closely with law enforcement, hospitals, and behavioral health partners to ensure safety and connect individuals to ongoing care.

Schedule:

This is a Full-Time position

Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, as required by the contract associated with this position.
  • Eligibility for Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician – Crisis Service Provider (MHRT-CSP) certification is required. Individuals may qualify through one of the following pathways:
  • 36 months of direct behavioral health experience (4,992 hours);
  • MHRT/C certification and a minimum of 1,664 hours of direct behavioral health experience;
  • Completion of 30 college credits hours and/or an associate's degree in a related field, along with a minimum of 1,664 hours of direct behavioral health experience; or have a current MHRT-CSP Certification
  • Upon hire, staff will be required to complete the MHRT-CSP training appropriate to their role and experience
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Required training courses include CPR/First Aid Training, MANDT (Day 1), trained to administer and carry Naloxone and complete Peer Support 101 Training. Training is provided by the agency upon hire.
