Job summary

UnityPoint Health – Eyerly Ball is seeking compassionate Mobile Crisis On-Call Counselors to provide on-site crisis response in community or home settings. On-call shifts cover Ames, IA with daytime, weekend, and flexible hours; on-call pay applies for availability.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, documentation, and coordinating with partners. Qualifications include mental health credentials or equivalent education as defined by Iowa Code, plus valid driver’s license and background

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the listed education options.
• Strong crisis assessment and de-escalation skills.
• Accurate data entry and documentation per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis response and intervention to clients on crisis calls in community or home settings where the crisis is occurring.
• Complete related data entry and documentation in accordance with agency policy.
• When on-call, be reachable by phone and respond within a 1-hour regional window while coordinating with the on-call partner.
