The Lakes Region Mental Health Center, Inc. in Laconia, NH is seeking a Mobile Crisis Clinician to join a dedicated team that works with first responders, healthcare providers, and community agencies to stabilize psychiatric crises and initiate immediate community-based treatment.

The Clinician conducts evaluations in homes, hospitals, and mobile settings, applying diagnostic skills and coordinating care, with frequent night, weekend, and non-traditional hours required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related discipline is required.
• Must have and maintain a valid NH driver’s license with current liability insurance which meets Lakes Region Mental Health Center requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations in homes, hospitals, community and mobile-based milieus, applying differential diagnostic skills.
• Provides emergency crisis evaluations, assessment, treatment interventions and short-term crisis counseling and all related service delivery requirements in multiple settings, including alliance vendor hospitals, our clinic, community-based settings in the region and/or on-site.
• Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with hospital-based staff and other providers in order to effectively serve all patients in crisis.
• Maintains current working knowledge and use of all related, internal and external resources, policies, procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements necessary to effectively serve patients with quality care in multiple settings and with ever changing program needs.
• Responsible for telephone triage as needed and providing timely, appropriate assessment and determining next steps in support for patients with behavioral health needs.
• Availability for night, weekend, and non-traditional hours required.

Job Summary

The Mobile Crisis Clinician works with a team of professionals, including first responders, healthcare providers, and community based agencies to stabilize a psychiatric crisis, avoid hospitalization and/or incarceration, and initiate immediate community-based treatment.

The Clinician performs evaluations in homes, hospitals, community and mobile-based milieus. The Clinician applies differential diagnostic skills, provides telephone triage, mental status assessments, collateral contacts with family supports, extended evaluations, resource screenings, referrals for psychiatric consults, and assessments for appropriate disposition.

Physical Requirements

• Is able to sustain light physical effort such as frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, or reaching and/or occasional lifting of items 20 lbs. or more.
• Is able to tolerate periods of heavy workload or excessive stress.
• Must be able to walk, climb and use stairs on a regular basis and in unknown circumstances without accommodation.
