Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Maintenance Technician/Mobile Crane Operator for its Morenci operations. The role focuses on providing operational and technical support to the mobile crane team, with responsibilities in training, safety, planning, and compliance.

The position requires extensive crane experience (150 tons+), a CDL, and demonstrated skills in rigging, maintenance, and troubleshooting. On-site housing benefits and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Apprenticeship Program or 2-year college degree in a mechanical field.
• Four years of related industrial maintenance/mobile crane experience with 150+ ton cranes.
• Must pass Certified Crane Operator exam and panel interview; hands-on test.
• Must have CDL and pass pre-employment tests and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and training of employees performing mobile crane operations.
• Support planning and preparation of crane jobs for safe, efficient execution.
• Participate in safety programs and JSA, SOPs, near-miss reporting, and environmental compliance.
• Assist management with budget development for department operating and maintenance costs.
• Mentor and onboard new Mobile Crane Operators and Apprentices.
• Serve on selection panels for Certified/Master Mobile Crane Operators.
• Perform other duties as required.
