Qualifications

• Prior experience operating heavy machinery; mobile crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload customer vehicles including trucks and trailers according to yard procedures.
• Sort materials and place them in designated areas.
• Ensure torch cutters have material as needed.
• Inspect loads to ensure railcars and trailers are safe to move.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures when around the crane.
• Operate the crane safely at all times.
• Notify maintenance of crane mechanical or maintenance needs.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift crane inspections.
• Move scrap material through yard safely.
• Wear required PPE at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position: Mobile Crane Operator

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Hours are subject to change, and overtime or weekend hours may be required.

Pay: $22 per hour

About the Role: As a Mobile Crane Operator, you will play an important role in keeping yard operations moving safely and efficiently. You will load, unload, sort, and move materials using mobile crane equipment while following established safety procedures and yard standards.

What You’ll Do:

• Unload customer vehicles, including small and medium trucks, semi-trailers, and other approved containers.


• Sort materials and place them in designated areas according to yard procedures.


• Ensure torch cutters are supplied with appropriate material as needed.


• Inspect all loads according to yard standards, ensuring railcars and semi-trailers are safe to leave the yard.


• Follow lockout/tagout procedures when working on or around the crane, in accordance with company policy.


• Operate the crane safely and responsibly at all times.


• Notify the maintenance department of any mechanical or maintenance needs related to the crane.


• Perform pre-shift and post-shift crane inspections and routine maintenance checks.


• Move scrap material through the yard in a safe and controlled manner.


• Wear required and approved personal protective equipment at all times.


• Perform other duties as assigned.
