Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair cranes and heavy equipment directly at active jobsites across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. This full-time travel role requires diagnosing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and other heavy equipment systems.

You will work on cranes and related machinery, read manuals, and perform field repairs with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical experience, preferably with cranes or heavy equipment.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
• Familiarity with crane equipment such as tower cranes is a plus.
• Ability to read technical manuals and repair instructions.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to pass background, drug screening, and fit-for-duty requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on cranes and heavy equipment at active jobsites.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues.
• Inspect crane systems, booms, brakes, engines, and other major components to identify defects.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild damaged parts and equipment components.
• Troubleshoot electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and mechanical assemblies.
• Test equipment after repairs to verify safe operation.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Use hand tools and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs.
• Maintain equipment reliability and follow safety procedures.
• Perform additional mechanical maintenance as needed.
