You’ll report to the Regional Field Service Manager and operate independently in the field to keep truck‑mounted equipment running at peak performance.A Day in the FieldStart your day by reviewing scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and any urgent service calls.Head to customer locations to diagnose and repair articulating cranes, truck‑mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers.Consult with job site leaders or fleet managers to explain findings and map out repairs.Document everything promptly—estimates, work authorizations, labor, parts ordering/usage, and inventory notes.Respond to unscheduled issues, including after-hours emergencies when needed.Wrap up by ensuring your service vehicle, tools, and the work site are clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards.What You’ll HandleTroubleshoot and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems on truck‑mounted lifting equipment with a high level of independent judgment.Perform quarterly preventive maintenance per customer schedules, annual DOT inspections, and warranty-related service.Comply with all applicable state and federal safety regulations.Maintain an organized company vehicle and tidy work areas at each site.What You BringDeep hands-on skill in mechanics, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and welding.Ability to work outdoors in all weather; able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 75 lbs+ for extended periods.3+ years of mechanical experience or training, ideally focused on articulating cranes and forklifts.Proficient in English (read, write, speak).Valid CDL driver’s license—or willingness to obtain one within 60 days of hire.Own hand tools (PALFINGER-proprietary tools are provided).Rewards & GrowthCompetitive compensation401(k) with Company matchMedical, dental, vision, life, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and short- and long-term disability (depending upon state); wellness programPaid Company holidays and paid Personal Time Off (PTO)Ongoing learning and clear paths to grow your careerCore ProficienciesDriver's LicenseConstruction Equipment MaintenanceHeavy Equipment RepairTroubleshooting SkillsMechanical Troubleshooting SkillsHydraulics ExperienceLift Truck Repair & MaintenanceHydraulic Systems & ComponentsElectrical Systems & Diagnostics (Heavy Equipment)Crane & Lifting Equipment SystemsEquipment Repair & MaintenanceBasic Computer SkillsAdditional InformationThis job posting describes the general nature of work performed by employees within this classification.
