Job summary

PALFINGER seeks an experienced Field Service Mechanic to service customer truck-mounted equipment in the Hartford area. You will perform field repairs, preventive maintenance, and emergency troubleshooting with minimal supervision.

Requirements include 3 years mechanical experience with cranes/forks, English proficiency, a CDL or ability to obtain one within 60 days, and ability to lift 75 lbs. Tools provided; travel and safety compliance expected.

Qualifications

• 3 years of mechanical experience or training with emphasis in articulating cranes and forklifts.
• Must speak, read and write English.
• Must have a valid CDL driver’s license or willing to obtain one within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and troubleshooting of articulating cranes, truck-mounted equipment, conveyors, trucks and trailers.
• Perform quarterly preventive maintenance per customer schedule and Annual DOT inspections.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs during working and non-working hours.
• Communicate mechanical issues and needed repairs to the job site and fleet managers.
• Complete service documentation including estimates, work orders, parts, labor and inventory.
• Comply with state and federal safety regulations.
• Maintain clean and orderly company vehicle and job site equipment and work areas.

This is a remote position in Hartford, CT. This position reports to the Regional Field Service Manager.Your ResponsibilitiesPerform field repairs and troubleshooting of articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks and trailers while using a high degree of independent judgment.Perform quarterly preventive maintenance per customer schedule and Annual DOT inspections and warranty service.Provide emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs during working and non-working hours.Able to communicate mechanical issues and needed repairs to the job site and/or fleet managers.Responsible for service documentation in a timely manner that consists of but not limited to; estimates, work order authorization, ordering and recording parts, labor, and inventory documentation.Comply with state and federal safety regulations.Maintain clean and orderly company vehicle and job site equipment and work areas.Your QualificationsStrong proficiency in mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, troubleshooting diagnostics and welding.Must be physically able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach and lift 75lbs+ for extended periods.3 years of mechanical experience or training with emphasis in the area of articulating cranes and forklifts.Must speak, read and write English.Must have a valid CDL driver’s license or willing to obtain one within 60 days of employment.Supply own tools.
