Job summary

Cleaver-Brooks Sales & Service, in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Boiler Controls Technician – Mobile Steam Department to wire, test, and commission boilers in shop and in the field. The technician will read blueprints, troubleshoot controls, and set combustion across boiler types.

Requires at least 3 years of boiler experience with PLCs and controls, plus a strong electrical/mechanical background. Valid driver’s license and the ability to work in field conditions are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years boiler experience with PLCs, transformers, transmitters and boiler controls.
• Must read blueprints and schematics and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Mechanical and electrical background required.

Responsibilities

• Wire all controls and motors for watertube and firetube boilers and auxiliary equipment.
• Rebuild control valves and regulators.
• Build and test control panels using wiring schematics and layouts.
• Build and test fuel skids using engineering wiring schematic and layout.
• Build and test condensate tanks and deaerators.
• Troubleshoot, fire, and set combustion on boilers.
• Train other employees on operation and controls of boilers.
• Maintain condition and inventory of tools and monitors.
