Job summary

AAA Lexington seeks full-time Mobile Battery Technicians to join our Roadside Assistance team. You will assist members with battery needs, jump starts, and related services in various weather and traffic conditions from a service vehicle.

We offer a competitive base rate starting at $21.40/hour, 2nd shift with 10% differential, overtime, monthly bonuses, and a strong benefits package including 401(k) with company match and health coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in automotive/mechanical environment preferred.
• 3 years in automotive/mechanical or sales/customer service role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tow and recovery services following established guidelines.
• Provide lock-out, fuel delivery, battery jump starts and tire changes.
• Sell, install, test, and perform battery warranty services for Members.
• Communicate with members to keep them informed and safe.
• Enter call information into in-truck system and process payments.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections for safe operation.
• Ensure fleet vehicle and equipment are secured when not in use.
• Promote the AAA brand and participate in events as needed.

AAA Lexington is seeking full time Mobile Battery Technicians to join our Roadside Assistance team! Rain or shine, snow or ice, our drivers help our members when they need us most, whether it's changing a flat tire or jumpstarting a car battery. Do you have what it takes? Must be at least 21 years old. Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license for the state where you reside; and maintain all state and local licensing requirements. Ability to pass a physical examination as required by Department of Transportation and/or Company policy. 3 years of experience in an automotive/mechanical environment, or technical school or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales and/or customer service role is preferred. Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; bend, kneel and balance to change tires, inspect and to push vehicles; and use hand tools to provide service. Satisfactory pre-and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug and motor vehicle screening. Operate passenger vehicles and light-medium duty trucks (both manual and automatic transmissions) while primarily working from a service vehicle. Communicate effectively in writing, verbally, via email and using assigned technology such as GPS (Global Positioning Systems). Successfully complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire, and additional future department training as required. (May need to adjust your schedule to attend training).

What will you do? Provide tow and recovery services using established guidelines and quality control procedures (Tow Truck Driver position). Provide lock-out, fuel delivery, battery jump starts and tire change services using established guidelines and quality control procedures. Mobile Battery Technicians sell, install, test, and perform battery warranty services for Members. Communicate with members effectively to keep them informed and to ensure their safety. Make sound decisions regarding the safe service of vehicles and to accommodate member needs. Enter call information accurately into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash and complete reports as required. Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections, ensuring that all are in safe operating condition and that all requirements are met. Ensure that the fleet vehicle and all equipment are adequately secured at all times, including when the vehicle is not in use. Support AAA as needed by participating in special events (parades, television, radio, and social media) promoting the brand.
