Job summary

AAA Club Alliance in New Castle, DE is hiring full-time roadside assistance drivers. No CDL required and paid training are offered, with overtime and monthly bonus opportunities.

Candidates must be at least 21, hold a valid driver’s license, and pass required DOT physicals and screenings. We provide a competitive hourly rate ($23.65–$24.70), PTO, a strong 401(k) match, comprehensive health benefits, tuition reimbursement, and a paid uniforms program.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license for the state of residence; maintain all licensing requirements.
• Ability to pass a physical examination as required by the DOT and/or Company policy.
• 3 years of experience in an automotive/mechanical environment, or 3 years in sales and/or customer service preferred.
• Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; bend, kneel and balance to change tires; use hand tools.
• Satisfactory pre-and post-employment screening results (criminal, drug, motor vehicle).
• Operate passenger vehicles and light-medium duty trucks; work primarily from a service vehicle.
• Effective written and verbal communication; basic GPS usage.
• Complete required departmental training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide lock-out, fuel delivery, battery jump starts and tire change services.
• Sell and install car batteries (Mobile Battery position).
• Provide tow and recovery services (Tow Truck Driver position).
• Communicate with members to keep them informed and safe.
• Make sound decisions for safe vehicle service and to meet member needs.
• Enter call information into in-truck systems, process payments, and complete reports.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation and securement.
• Support AAA at events promoting the brand.

What will you do?

• Provide lock-out, fuel delivery, battery jump starts and tire change services.
• Sell and install car batteries (Mobile Battery position only).
• Provide tow and recovery services (Tow Truck Driver position only).
• Communicate with members effectively to keep them informed and to ensure their safety.
• Make sound decisions regarding the safe service of vehicles and to accommodate member needs.
• Enter call information accurately into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash and complete reports as required.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure safe operating condition and adequately secured at all times.
• Support AAA as needed by participating in special events (parades, television, radio, and social media) promoting the brand.
• Other duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license for the state where you reside; and maintain all state and local licensing requirements.
• Ability to pass a physical examination as required by the Department of Transportation and/or Company policy.
• 3 years of experience in an automotive/mechanical environment, or technical school, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales and/or customer service role is preferred.
• Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; bend, kneel and balance to change tires, inspect and to push vehicles; and use hand tools to provide service.
• Satisfactory pre-and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle screening.
• Operate passenger vehicles and light-medium duty trucks (both manual and automatic transmissions) while primarily working from a service vehicle.
• Communicate effectively in writing, verbally, via email, and using assigned technology such as GPS (Global Positioning Systems).
• Successfully complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire, and additional future department training as required. (May need to adjust your schedule to attend training).
