Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Washington, DC is seeking an Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable mobile automation frameworks for iOS and Android. The role combines automated and manual testing across APIs and end-to-end workflows, with emphasis on continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in automated testing of mobile apps on iOS and Android; manual testing experience as well.
• Hands-on with Appium, Java, Selenium, REST Assured, Postman; API automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Test case design, test execution, exploratory testing, UAT, defect management, and test reporting.
• Performance testing with tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with AWS services (AppSync, API Gateway, GraphQL, DynamoDB) and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience testing Spring Boot microservices and enterprise integrations.
• Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, accessibility, performance, usability, and security testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable mobile automation frameworks for iOS and Android using Appium and standard tools.
• Develop, review, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases for mobile apps, APIs, and end-to-end workflows.
• Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, system, accessibility, performance, and security testing.
• Validate application functionality across devices, OS versions, browsers, and environments.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid releases.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, Developers, Architects, DevOps and stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables.
• Create and maintain test plans, cases, scenarios, data, and traceability matrices; maintain automation assets.
• Execute manual test cycles, log defects, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with dev teams for resolution.
• Participate in defect triage and support release validation and production readiness.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise quality standards, accessibility requirements, and security best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted testing to improve coverage and productivity; support performance testing initiatives.
• Review automation scripts and contribute to improving frameworks and processes.
• Publish test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality status updates for stakeholders.
• Support UAT, production validation, and post-release verification activities.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable mobile automation frameworks for iOS and Android platforms using Appium and industry-standard tools.
• Develop, review, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases formobile applications, APIs, and end-to-end business workflows.
• Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, system, accessibility, performance, and security testing activities.
• Validate application functionality across multiple devices, operating systems, browsers, and environments.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality deliverables.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, test data, traceability matrices, and automation assets.
• Execute manual test cycles, identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with development teams for issue resolution.
• Participate in defect triage meetings and support release validation and production readiness activities.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise quality standards, accessibility requirements, and security best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted testing approaches to improve automation coverage, productivity, and overall test effectiveness.
• Support performance testing initiatives and provide inputs on application quality, reliability, and scalability.
• Review automation scripts developed by team members and contribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks and testing processes.
• Prepare and publish test execution reports, defect metrics, test summary reports, and quality status updates for project stakeholders.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production validation, and post-release verification activities.

Salary Range-$100,000-$120,000 a year
