Job summary

Able ARTS Works seeks a Community Engagement/Program Instructor to deliver accessible creative arts education and adaptive skills training across workshops, MAP visits, and day programs.

The role requires developing person-centered curricula, coordinating with therapists and caregivers, traveling to homes and community sites, and maintaining documentation while upholding safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in art, music, dance, drama, education, therapeutic recreation, special education, or a related field.
• Professional-level skills in at least one creative discipline (visual art, music, dance, drama, or movement).
• Ability to develop and facilitate accessible, inclusive arts activities.
• Adapt instruction to individuals with varying cognitive, physical, communication, behavioral, and emotional needs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn organization-specific software.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications and training.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between program sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead accessible community-based creative arts workshops for participants of varying abilities.
• Adapt instruction, activities, materials, and teaching methods to participants’ abilities and goals.
• Prepare workshop spaces and ensure materials, equipment, and spaces are safe and accessible.
• Travel between program locations to provide instruction and ratio support.
• Maintain attendance, progress notes, and required documentation.
• Collaborate with program managers, therapists, caregivers, and community partners.
