Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a Multimedia Journalist to join FOX8 WGHP-TV in High Point, NC. The candidate will shoot, edit and write stories, build community contacts, and contribute enterprise ideas to the newsroom.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, at least 2 years MMJ experience, and strong English communication skills. Valid driver’s license required; on‑site newsroom role with local coverage.

Qualifications

• 2 years MMJ experience is required.
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication are essential.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Shoots and edits news events and reports.
• Writes stories for the web.
• Arranges interviews with people who can provide information about stories.
• Reviews copy for errors in grammar and punctuation per editorial guidelines.
• Gathers information through research, interviews, and events.
• Pitches stories to managers and producers relevant to the local community.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
