Mena Regional Health System is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine and complex tests across laboratory departments. You will handle specimens, operate standard equipment, and report results with accuracy and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and certification (AMT or ASCP). Evening/night/weekend availability may be required as workload demands.

• Assc. or higher degree in clinical lab science or MT/MLS as applicable.
• AMT or ASCP certification required.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine and complex tests in various lab areas.
• Process and analyze specimens and report results.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Work with Hematology, Serology, Chemistry, Bacteriology and Immunohematology procedures.
• Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient results.
• May work evenings, nights, weekends as needed.

Job Summary: At the direction and control of the Lab Director, the Medical Laboratory Technician will perform routine and/or complex tests in various areas of the Lab using standard techniques and equipment.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and/or complex tests in various areas of the lab using standard techniques and equipment.May perform mechanical and chemical operations and microscopic tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseasesReceives or obtains specimens for laboratory analysisApplies techniques used in fields of Hematology, Serology, Chemistry, Bacteriology, and Immunohematology and understands the relationship of test results to patient age specific characteristics.Records and reports laboratory resultsPerforms other duties as assigned.May be required to work evenings, nights, and/or weekends on a regular or as needed basis.Education: MLT with an Associates degree from an MLT program and accredited or meets the criteria to sit for accreditation or an MT/MLS with a bachelor's degree from an accredited program that is accredited or meets the criteria to sit for accreditation.AMT or ASCP certification required.Experience: Prior experience preferredPhysical Requirements: Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to:Reaching and grasping with arms and handsProofreading and checking documents for accuracyUsing a keyboard to enter or transform words or dataHearing in normal and soft tonesAbility to read and understand written English words and sentencesAbility to communicate orally and in writing in English words and sentencesAbility to understand spoken English words and sentencesAbility to communicate with others by telephone and e-mailAbility to perform duties and responsibilities promptly and with little direct supervision in planning and organizing workloadAbility to judge the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances or problems.The demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
