Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science/Physical/Chemical/Biological/Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• AMT or ASCP certification within 1 year.
• One year of full-time clinical laboratory experience.
• Current certification is verified upon hire (AMT/ASCP).

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate to high complexity laboratory testing for diagnosis and treatment.
• Conducts routine, urgent, and STAT tests with accuracy under CAP guidelines.
• Receives day-to-day guidance from department supervisors and reports to Laboratory Administrative Director.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician (MLS/MLT) performs various moderate to high complexity laboratory testing requiring a degree of skill commensurate with education, trainingand technical abilities. Conducts routine, urgent, and STAT tests for use in diagnosis andtreatment of disease and performs related duties following established standards and practicesunder College of American Pathology (CAP). Contributes to a safe environment for patients,providers and staff while ensuring validity and accuracy of test results. The MLS/MLT receives day to day guidance from the department section supervisors and report to the Laboratory Administrative Director with oversight from the Laboratory MedicalDirector.

• Bachelor's Degree in in Science in Chemical,Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science orMedical Technology, which includes course workmeeting the requirements for ASCP or AMTcertification. (New grads must providedegree/transcripts within twelve (12) weeks of hire.)
• Medical Laboratory Scientist (AMT) within 1 yearor Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) within 1year or Medical Technologist (AMT) within 1 yearor Medical Technologist (ASCP) within 1 year
• One year of full-time clinical laboratory experienceneeded to acquire AMT or ACSP certification OrCompletion of a Medical Sciences program.
• Current Certification is verified upon hire.MLS or MLT (ASCP)cm continuing educations isapplicable per ASCP/AMT
