Job summary

Mission Hospital McDowell in Marion, North Carolina, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and complex lab analyses on blood, tissues, and body fluids with minimal supervision, while supporting quality control.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, ASCP certification (or registry-eligible with future certification), and MLS rotation experience. This position offers comprehensive benefits within the HCA Healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field is required.
• ASCP Certification or equivalent certification; registry eligible if not certified at hire.
• Preferred: MLS certification by ASCP or equivalent.
• Clinical rotation as MLS student is required; one year post-graduate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex lab analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids with minimal supervision.
• Assists management in monitoring quality control data to ensure accuracy and precision.
