Job summary

ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital in Defiance, OH is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to perform complex lab tests essential for diagnosing and treating patients. This full-time, night-shift role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates with a two-year commitment.

You will lead testing, quality control, and communication with health care teams, maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical/physical/biological/clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• ASCP MLS or Categorical eligibility with certification within one year of hire.
• Alternate route for testing personnel for high complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and analyze specimens per policies and procedures.
• Maintain quality control records and monitor for out-of-control results.
• Operate instruments and interpret results; communicate with health care teams.
• Instruct and assess competencies of new associates and students.
• Lead in absence of on-site supervisor and support team needs.

Education

Bachelor's or higher in chemical/physical/biological/clinical lab science

ASCP MLS or Categorical eligible at hire

Alternate qualification route for high complexity testing
