Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA seeks a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 to join the Chemistry team on the night shift. The full-time position runs 4–10 hour shifts from 9:30pm to 8:00am with days varying. The hospital is known for safety, quality, and patient experience.

The MLS 2 will review technical activities for QA, prepare for inspections, follow SOPs, perform QC, and support coworkers and patients with technical questions. ASCP/AMT certification alignment is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science from a recognized college/university.
• NAACLS/ABHES/AMT accredited MLS program experience may substitute for one year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews technical activities for quality assurance per facility requirements.
• Prepares Laboratory for self and onsite inspections.
• Follows SOPs and maintains knowledge of contents.
• Performs QC measures and documents results, reports discrepancies.
• Serves as a resource for coworkers and patients on technical questions.
• Reports accurate results with minimal corrected reports due to non-technical factors.
• Other duties as assigned.
