Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or biology or related sciences preferred; an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field may be acceptable.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized laboratory testing in assigned area following SOPs.
• Calibrates instruments and performs preventative/corrective maintenance.
• Monitors quality control data and initiates corrective actions as needed.
• Assists in quality assurance and documentation; ensures timely test reporting.
• Provides orientation and training to new employees and reviews procedures as requested.
• May serve as charge technologist on shifts and troubleshoot operations.
