Job summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC performs clinical laboratory tests following standard policies and procedures. You will prepare specimens, monitor test results for quality, operate analyzers, and report findings accurately to clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology or related science from an accredited institution.
• Alternative: bachelor's with 30 sem hours biology and chemistry, within or in addition to degree.
• 2 years clinical laboratory experience or 1 year with MLS/BB/C/H/MB certification by ASCP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient specimens and perform department-specific tests.
• Monitor test results to assure quality and validity.
• Communicate results in a timely manner and manage data entry.
• Assist in orientation or training of new or less experienced staff or students.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate professional conduct with patients and staff.
• Work alternate shifts as required and assist with phlebotomy when needed.
