Job summary

ECU Health Medical Center in North Carolina seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform clinical tests, ensure accuracy through quality control, calibrations, and preventive maintenance. The MLS will prepare specimens, monitor results, and communicate findings promptly using laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, good patient interaction, and working alternating shifts with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology or related biological/chemical/physical science.
• Alternative: Bachelor's with 30 sem hrs biology/chemistry within/alongside degree.
• Non-CLS/MT degree requires 1 year clinical lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient specimens for testing and perform department-specific tests.
• Monitor test results to ensure quality and validity.
• Communicate results promptly and enter/retrieve data from lab systems.
