Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Requires six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex analytic procedures on laboratory specimens, using manual or automated techniques and information systems, for diagnosing or treating disease.
• Evaluates instrument performance and quality control results to ensure accuracy of analytic data.
• Correlates results with other lab data and disease states.
• Performs calibration, preventive maintenance, quality control, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and systems.
• Maintains compliance with safety, confidentiality, and institutional policies; participates in quality improvement activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related

BB/CG/CT/MB/Certifications (ASCP/AMT/AAB/AABB/ASM/HEW)
