Job summary

Henry Ford Macomb Hospital seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and complex procedures on blood and other body fluids. The MLS rotates through all departments to maintain competency and works with ER and outpatient teams in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Sign On Bonus Available! Under supervision, you will handle analytic procedures and ensure accuracy, contributing to patient diagnosis and care within a collaborative lab team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university.
• Requires six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory tests on blood and other specimens using manual or automated techniques.
• Applies knowledge and collaborative problem solving to improve processes.
• Performs calibration, maintenance, quality control, and troubleshooting of lab equipment and information systems.
