Job summary

Achievement First in New York seeks an MLL Teacher-Coordinator to plan and deliver English Language Development while managing language proficiency assessments. You will collaborate with classroom teachers to accelerate English and core-subject learning and ensure student success.

The role implements MLL procedures, supports colleagues with multilingual learner knowledge, and models an assets-based approach to diversity. This is a collaborative, full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• Two years of teaching experience preferred with a proven record of high student achievement.
• Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0; Master’s degree preferred.
• New York certified in TESOL or Bilingual Education or in process of obtaining a certification.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides English Language Development instruction and manages language assessments.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers to accelerate English and academic content learning.
• Implements MLL procedures and supports the MLL Director and other teachers.
• Promotes assets-based mindsets and research-based pedagogy for multilingual learners.
• Supports integration of structures and systems across the school for MLLs to thrive.
