Job summary

Rippling is seeking an Engineering Intern to join the Machine Learning Team for Summer 2027 (May/June - August/September) in San Francisco. You will translate product needs into models, train them, and ship to production with a small team, while building scalable ML pipelines and collaborating with data engineers. The role requires current enrollment in a M.Sc.

or Ph.D. program in CS, strong backend programming skills (Python, PySpark, PyTorch), and excellent communication.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a M.Sc. or Ph.D. program in computer science or a related field during the course of the internship.
Solid programming skills with an emphasis on backend experience; production code base uses Python, PySpark and PyTorch.
Excellent communication skills; a passion to learn and develop in ML and software engineering.

Responsibilities

Translate product needs into mathematical formulations (models); train those models; ship them to production with a small team.
Design scalable machine learning pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training and evaluation.
Collaborate with data engineers to collect and preprocess data sets for model training; stay updated with latest ML research and apply it to Rippling products.
