Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Data Science Intern for Summer 2026 (May–August) to work alongside experienced data scientists and analysts. You will gain exposure to building ML models and deploying production pipelines across product, sales, marketing, risk, and financial investments.

During the 13 weeks, you will be mentored by a dedicated manager, participate in socials and talks, and contribute to impactful projects with real business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science or in a related field with at least 1 semester/quarter after their internship is completed.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Solid programming skills with an emphasis on SQL and Python.

Responsibilities

• Use machine learning and other data mining techniques to analyze customer data and uncover customer level insights.
• Design, build, and deploy models to forecast multiple components of customer revenue and behavior.
• Deploy end to end ML pipelines to deliver prediction and insights at scale.
• Actively participate in team meetings to scope, drive, and progress your projects.
• Present your work to our R&D senior team.
• Attend Meet & Greets with various executives and teams to gain a holistic view of Rippling.

About the role

As a Data Science Intern, you will join our Data Science Team in Summer 2026 (May-August) to work shoulder to shoulder with a team of seasoned data scientists and analysts dedicated to boosting the impact of all Rippling’s motions, be it in product, sales, marketing, risk, or financial investments. Rippling Interns gain the experience of full-time data scientists including building machine learning (ML) models and deploying end to end production pipelines. Interns will be assigned projects that not only have an impact on the business, but that are also scoped to fit within the time constraints of their internship so they can see the full impact of their work.

During your 13 weeks at Rippling, we will provide all of the tools needed to be successful. Your dedicated mentor and manager will provide support for your learning and development throughout your time with us. You will join your fellow interns in a variety of socials, talks with Rippling leaders, and more!

What you will do

• Deploy end to end ML pipelines to deliver prediction and insights at scale

• Present your work to our R&D senior team
• Attend Meet & Greets with various executives and teams to gain a holistic view of what it takes to run a company like Rippling

What you will need

• Previous internship/co-op experience in data science
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science or in a related field with at least 1 semester/quarter after their internship is completed
• Excellent communication skills
• Solid programming skills with an emphasis on SQL and Python
• Ability to adapt get your hands dirty with both industrial- and startup grade code and systems
• Passion and drive to constantly learn and develop your engineering skills
