Job summary

TikTok is seeking strong machine learning engineers to grow business understanding, build scalable models, and partner with global teams. You will work on a next-generation content understanding system for TikTok monetization, seeking researchers with ML background to create an ecosystem rewarding high-quality user experience and advertiser value.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS, SE, ECE, automation, math, statistics or related field (completed or expected within 12 months)
• Research in Ads, Search, Recommender Systems, NLP, CV, Multimodal, or Agent tech (publications, thesis, internships)
• Strong understanding of LLM methodology: pre/post-training and evaluation
• Ability to formulate research problems, design controlled experiments, draw conclusions
• Proficient in Python and PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Strong problem-solving, collaborative mindset, translate research into products

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will build a leading moderation system enabling end-to-end capabilities for accurate rejection decisions, interpretable reasoning, and intelligent remediation
