ByteDance is seeking a Machine Learning Platform Engineer for the Applied Machine Learning Team in San Jose. You will develop and maintain the ML platform supporting deep learning models for code development, testing, training, deployment, and core business functions.

You will collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers, design scalable data processing, and ensure platform stability. The role emphasizes distributed training and integration with existing systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of software engineering experience with Python or Golang.
• Deep understanding of distributed computing and large-scale data processing; familiar with Hadoop, Spark, etc.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core functions of the machine learning platform, including data processing, feature engineering, model training, model insights, and model deployment.
• Build efficient, scalable data processing and computing processes to ensure platform stability and performance.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand requirements and provide tool and technical support.
• Work with system administrators and software engineers to ensure smooth platform integration with other systems.
• Manage and monitor operation of the platform and troubleshoot issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide platform improvement recommendations.
