Job summary

ByteDance seeks an Intern for the Applied Machine Learning (AML) organization in San Jose. You will join a global production engineering team that blends systems knowledge with software engineering to run large-scale distributed services powering machine learning products.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Undergraduate or Master's in Software Development, CS, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• Solid understanding of fundamental data structures and algorithms
• Foundational programming experience in Python, C++, or Go
• Interest in troubleshooting distributed systems and strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing software to enhance system automation, monitoring, and efficiency
• Troubleshoot system issues, analyze root causes, and implement preventative measures
• Contribute to enhancing existing software and supporting testing/validation
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to understand requirements and improve performance
• Learn and apply CS/engineering principles to real-world problems
