Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking an experienced data science leader to manage a production-grade ML and analytics team. You will guide engineers across ML-powered products in credit, pricing, and risk, balancing performance, value, and governance.

Reporting to the National Manager, Data Science, you will shape architecture, drive delivery, and foster a culture of ownership and responsible AI. This role demands hands-on coaching, strong communication, and the ability to turn complex priorities

Qualifications

• Master's degree required or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in data science/ML with production ownership.
• 2+ years people-management experience.
• Experience building and operating ML systems in production in the cloud.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency.
• Experience with governance, auditing, and responsible AI.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team: hire, coach, mentor ML engineers.
• Set technical direction: architecture, testing, deployment, observability, data quality.
• Partner with data scientists, analysts, PMs to translate needs into plans.
• Deliver scalable, reliable systems on cloud platforms and analytics engines.
• Define ML engineering roadmap and operating model.
• Raise engineering bar with reviews, processes, and governance.
• Improve MLOps with CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and reproducibility.
• Own portfolio delivery and prioritize across domains and stakeholders.
• Represent the team in planning, budgeting, and executive updates.
