Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer to develop and optimize large language models and NLP solutions for intelligence workflows. The role requires 8+ years of experience, Python proficiency, and TS/SCI with Polygraph, with on-site work in McLean, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in an IT discipline or equivalent.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience with modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Hands-on experience using GPUs for accelerated computing.
• Experience tuning neural networks (including LLMs) on custom datasets and applying them to specific use cases.
• Experience building AI/ML models and ensembles, selecting appropriate Python libraries, preparing data, performing analyses, and evaluating model performance.
• Proficiency in Python or R
• Solid SQL skills, including using CTEs, set operations, aggregates and nested subqueries.
• Experience using version control tools such as GitHub and Jenkins.
• Security Clearance TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Location: McLean, VA On Customer Site
• Experience with Hugging Face Transformers and its model hub
• Experience with cloud-based development and architecture
• Experience with Flask or similar frameworks
• Ability to build text-focused ML solutions using scikit-learn or DL approaches
• Experience for semantic search
• Proficiency creating dashboards and visualizations in Tableau
• Ability to communicate modeling decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience building or using verification and validation test benches
• Familiarity with Explainable AI (XAI) techniques
• Experience with ONNX (Open Neural Network Exchange)
• US Citizenship Required

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt Large Language Models (LLMs) and NLP methodologies using AI/ML frameworks to improve analytic workflows and address key intelligence questions.
• Collaborate to deploy AI models on GPU-accelerated platforms and optimize performance.
• Tune neural networks on domain-specific datasets and evaluate model results.
• Build and evaluate AI/ML models and ensembles, selecting Python libraries and preparing data.
• Create dashboards or visualizations to communicate insights.
