TikTok is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for Search Recommendation in San Jose to build and improve search infrastructure that drives traffic and enhances user understanding of search intent across TikTok and TikTok Mall.

You will develop services and models, optimize recall and ranking in end-to-end workflows, and explore multi-modal approaches combining NLP, CV, and recommendation techniques to push the boundaries of short-text and multimedia recommendations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in machine learning.
• Bachelor or advanced degree in CS or related discipline.
• Excellent coding skills with solid data structures knowledge.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving abilities on complex data.

Responsibilities

• Enhance search recommendation services and models to grow TikTok search traffic and improve user understanding.
• Optimize recommender systems spanning recall and ranking in end-to-end workflows.
• Explore upper limits of short text and multi-modal recommendations with NLP and CV.
