Job summary

TikTok is seeking a General Hire Machine Learning Engineer for the Recommendation Organization in San Jose. You will develop and deploy recommendation systems, build end-to-end ML pipelines, and own full-stack ML solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Required are a CS/ML background, strong Python/C++ coding, and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow. Preferred are advanced degrees and RL/multimodal experiences. Base salary is substantial with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, ML, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
• Strong coding skills in Python and/or C++, with solid foundations in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience building ML systems using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Proven expertise in recommendation systems, ranking, retrieval, personalization, or large-scale ML infrastructure.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop recommendation systems that improve user experience and platform content ecosystem.
• Build machine learning systems and pipelines to address critical product challenges.
• Own a full stack machine learning system(s), lead its development, support, and improvements.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to design product strategies and build solutions to grow TikTok in the US market.
