Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking an AI/ML Engineer for Yahoo Mail to design, train, and deploy models that personalize user experiences at massive scale. You will optimize development cycles by leveraging AI-assisted tools and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines.

The role requires 2+ years of ML/backend experience, strong Python/Java skills, and familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Spark. Hybrid work options are available, with the chance to work across international teams.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
2+ years of hands-on experience building, training, and deploying ML models or data-intensive backend systems.
Strong proficiency in Python or Java (C++ a plus).
Experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, Scikit-learn).
Experience deploying models in production using runtimes like vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, Triton, or ONNX Runtime.

Responsibilities

Drive Personalization at Scale by building high-throughput AI/ML and NLP models.
Embed AI-driven workflows to optimize daily coding, testing, and iteration cycles.
Process massive datasets using ML and big data pipelines with high security and performance.
Build resilient systems with robust feedback loops and fallback strategies.
Architectural evolution by migrating backend ML services to public cloud (GCP).
Collaborate across global engineering groups to integrate Mail Intelligence models.
Maintain code quality, conduct thorough reviews, and advocate for sustainable designs.
