Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking a hands-on ML/AI engineer for Yahoo Mail responsible for building scalable AI/ML models and integrating them into the product stack. You will work across engineering teams to deploy high-quality, data-driven personalized experiences at massive scale.

You will apply modern ML frameworks, deploy models to production, and contribute to migrating services to Google Cloud Platform, all while maintaining strong code quality and security practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing, training, and deploying ML models or data-intensive backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python or Java (C++ a plus).
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience deploying models in production with vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, Triton, or ONNX Runtime.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools and distributed big data platforms (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• Strong written and verbal communication with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive Personalization at Scale: design and deploy high-throughput AI/ML and NLP models for Yahoo Mail.
• Embed AI-Driven Workflows to optimize daily coding, testing, and iteration cycles.
• Process Massive Datasets using ML and big data pipelines while maintaining security and performance.
• Build Resilient Systems with feedback loops and fallback strategies for edge cases.
• Architectural Evolution: migrate backend ML services and data infra to public cloud (GCP).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration across global engineering groups to integrate models into core platforms.
• Uphold Engineering Standards with code quality, reviews, and sustainable architectures.
