Job summary

Nike, Inc. is seeking an ambitious Software Engineer I – Machine Learning/AI to join Global Technology.

You will work on cloud-native development, owning ML/AI features end-to-end from data exploration to model deployment, collaborating with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams. The role emphasizes production-grade ML, distributed data pipelines (Spark, Airflow), and modern frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) with a strong focus on responsible AI and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or suitable combination of education, experience or training.
• 1+ years’ experience building and deploying ML models in production with Python and at least one major ML framework (PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Strong communication skills to translate business goals into technical requirements.
• Experience with data pipelines and distributed systems (Spark, Airflow) for ML workflows.
• Experience delivering production-grade LLM/agent workflows, including tool calls and orchestration.
• Experience integrating LLM capabilities into services and SDLC (CI/CD, testing strategies, feature flags, canaries, A/B tests).
• Ability to collaborate across functions with ownership and agile mindset.
• Growing AI fluency and applying ML techniques to solve problems responsibly.
• Experience with AWS SageMaker, Docker/containerization, and FastAPI.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy ML models that improve recommendations, ranking and personalization.
• Own problems end-to-end from data exploration to deployment.
• Develop scalable ML pipelines using Spark and Airflow.
• Apply modern ML frameworks to design, train, and optimize models in production.
• Contribute to experimentation frameworks including A/B testing and offline evaluation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to translate questions into ML solutions.
• Deliver high-quality solutions, balancing speed and rigor.
• Apply responsible AI practices for fairness, transparency and safety.
