TikTok is seeking a PhD-trained candidate for the Machine Learning Engineer Graduate position in Monetization Technology – Ads Core Global, located in San Jose. This program targets graduates transitioning into a high-impact, globally distributed engineering team.

You'll work on optimizing the advertising funnel with ML/DL, RL, and large-scale recommender systems, collaborating with product and business teams to deliver scalable, data-driven improvements across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• PhD candidate or recent PhD in CS/math/statistics or related field.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python; solid data structures & algorithms; Linux development experience.
• Good analytical thinking and essential knowledge in statistics.
• Strong grounding in deep learning concepts and techniques.
• Familiar with major ML frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch/MXNet) and their architectures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in optimizing efficiency across the entire advertising funnel, including Recall&Rough-sort, Fine-sort(CTR/CVR), format/creative personalization and system resource allocation.
• Research & develop a global advanced advertising delivery system using ML/DL, RL, LLM and scaling laws in ads recommendation.
• Design & set up system framework and standards to improve efficiency and meet vertical business needs.
• Collaborate with product and business teams from various scenarios with global impact.
