Job summary

Amazon is seeking a highly motivated software engineer-internship candidate to collaborate with hardware, firmware, and ML teams on software for custom ML accelerator silicon in Cupertino, CA. You will design, implement, test, and optimize software across the accelerator stack and contribute to production-grade tooling and documentation.

Applicants should be enrolled in a Master’s program in CS/CE with strong C++ (OOP) experience and coursework in computer architecture.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Master’s degree in a relevant field at time of application.
Proficiency in C++ with object-oriented programming.
Coursework in Computer Architecture.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop software for custom ML accelerator silicon.
Design, develop, and test software across the accelerator stack including compilers and drivers.
Build scalable systems for silicon bring-up, verification, and ML workloads.
Write clean, high-performance code in C++, C++, Python, or Rust.
Develop CI/CD pipelines and tooling to accelerate hardware-software co-development.
Participate in code reviews and documentation; leverage GenAI tools to improve productivity.
Monitor, debug, and resolve issues across hardware-software boundaries; participate in on-call tasks.
Stay updated on ML accelerators, compiler optimization, and cloud-scale systems.
