Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a Stress Analyst to apply physics-based analysis to spacecraft structures, supporting safe human spaceflight and mission success. You will work with design engineers on the next generation Lunar cargo vehicles, performing static/dynamic analyses, model development, and test interpretation to meet cost and schedule requirements.

This role emphasizes rigor, collaboration, and continuous learning within a team dedicated to safe, affordable spaceflight.

Qualifications

• Experience solving static and dynamic structural problems using analytical methods.
• Understanding of loads development for spacecraft and ground systems.
• Proficiency with Femap, NASTRAN and MATLAB required.

Responsibilities

• Solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods.
• Measure and interpret acceleration, shock and vibration data from tests.
• Model, simulate and verify launch, in-space burns and landing events.
• Develop finite element models and validate against tests.
• Develop general loads for spacecraft and ground systems.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Use Femap, NASTRAN and MATLAB in analyses.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)
• Acceleration, shock, and vibration measurement and data interpretation of ground and flight tests
• Modeling, simulation, and verification of spacecraft launch, in-space burns, and landing events
• Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
• General loads development for spacecraft and related ground systems
• Solid foundation of structural static/dynamic fundamentals
• Support configuration development and trade studies
• Femap, NASTRAN, and Matlab proficiency
