Job summary

Hilton Milwaukee Monarch Lounge in the lobby is seeking a dedicated Mixologist/ Lead Bartender to deliver elevated beverage service. Join a newly renovated property with a classic 1920s art-deco vibe and a strong focus on guest experience.

The role requires at least two years of fine-dining bartending, extensive wine/spirit knowledge, and a Bartending certificate plus TIPS. Compensation includes hourly pay and growth opportunities within Marcus Hotels & Resorts network.

Qualifications

• At least two years of bartending experience in a fine dining outlet.
• Available to work weekend nights.
• Excellent communication skills and hospitality knowledge.
• Extensive wine, spirits and beer knowledge; recite vintages and regions.
• Bartending certificate and TIPS certification required.
• Basic math for cash handling and POS operations.
• Proficient in English for guest communication; writing requisitions and vouchers.
• Manual dexterity for garnishes, glassware, ice, and stock.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock the bar daily with beer, wine, spirits, and garnishes.
• Maintain fresh garnishes, juices, and perishables for quality.
• Greet guests, take orders, mix, garnish, and present drinks using recipes.
• Serve food at the bar and assist with table service as needed.
• Understand menu, wine list, ingredients, prep, and service.
• Use POS and manage bar inventory; handle cash transactions.
• Ensure health standards; clean glassware and bar area.
• Adhere to liquor regulations regarding minors and intoxicated guests.
• Assist security and server duties when required.

The Lounge offers a bites and dessert menu in addition to serving craft cocktails, wine, and local beer. We are seeking a dedicated Mixologist/ Lead Bartender to deliver exceptional Food and Beverage service and showcase strong mixology skills in an elevated lounge setting.

What will you be doing:

• Set up and stock the bar daily, including beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce.
• Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure quality.
• Greet guests, take food and drink orders, mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control.
• Serve food at the bar and take tables when needed
• Understand food and drink menu, wine list, ingredients, preparation, and service.
• Efficiently use POS and manage bar inventory.
• Handle cash transactions, verify charges, and process guest checks.
• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard products to meet health standards and maintaining glassware.
• Must adhere to all State, Federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
• Other duties as assigned such as assisting security with disorderly guests and acting as a server when guests want to be served in the bar area.

What we are looking for:

• At least two years of bartending or bar service experience in a fine dining outlet.
• Must be available to work weekend nights.
• Excellent communication skills and familiarity with the hospitality industry.
• Must have a high level of knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer. Must be able to recite vintages, regions, and multiple levels of liquor.
• Ability to obtain any government-required license or certificate. Bartending certificate required. TIPS certification is required.
• Basic math skills for cash register operations, making change, totaling checks, and understanding portion sizes.
• Proficient in English for guest communication and order taking; basic writing skills for requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.
• Manual dexterity for garnishes, handling glassware and bottles, scooping ice, mixing drinks, and retrieving stock.
