Job summary

Hilton Madison Monona Terrace is seeking a Beverage Bartender to join our hospitality team. This role offers part-time or full-time schedules with weekend availability. The wage is $8.00/hour plus tips, with opportunities to grow within Marcus Hotels & Resorts.

You will craft beverages, engage guests warmly, and help create a welcoming bar atmosphere. Prior bartending experience is preferred, and SERV Safe certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of beverage preparation, garnishes, and alcohol service fundamentals.
• Basic math for cash handling and POS operation.
• English language proficiency and ability to obtain required licenses.
• Previous bartending experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock the bar each day, ensuring beverages, garnishes, and supplies are ready for service.
• Prepare and present beverages for bar guests and restaurant servers per standard recipes and portion guidelines.
• Greet guests, take drink orders, and deliver an engaging bar experience.
• Input orders into the POS system and create checks for guests.
• Maintain a clean, organized bar and lounge area throughout shift.
• Assist guests in bar/lounge and respond to requests promptly.
• Handle payments, give change, and balance house bank.
• Safely store beverages, equipment, and cash at shift end.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and sanitation procedures.
• Comply with liquor regulations and responsible service.
• Support security/management with intoxicated guests as needed.
• Assist with additional tasks and special guest requests.

What You'll Do

• Set up and stock the bar each day, ensuring all beverages, garnishes, and supplies are ready for service
• Prepare and present beverages for both bar guests and restaurant servers, following standard recipes and portion guidelines
• Greet guests warmly, take drink orders, and deliver an engaging and attentive bar experience
• Input orders into the POS system accurately and create checks for all guests to ensure proper accountability
• Maintain a clean, organized bar and lounge area throughout your shift
• Assist guests seated in the bar or lounge, responding promptly to requests and anticipating their needs
• Handle payments, make change, and balance your house bank responsibly
• Safely store beverages, equipment, and cash at the end of each shift
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper sanitation and cleaning procedures
• Comply with all state, federal, and company liquor regulations, including responsible alcohol service
• Support security or management when handling difficult or intoxicated guests
• Assist with additional tasks and special guest requests as needed

What You Bring

• Knowledge of beverage preparation, garnishes, and alcohol service fundamentals
• Basic math skills to operate a register, manage transactions, and balance a cash bank
• English proficiency (spoken and written) to communicate with guests and complete required documentation
• Ability to handle bar tools, glassware, and stocked items safely
• Ability to promote and recall menu items, and to operate a POS system
• Comfort working on your feet and in confined bar spaces for extended periods
• Previous bartending experience preferred
• Ability to obtain all required licenses or certifications, including bartending SERV Safe certification
