Job summary

Chano And Sons in West Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Mixing Technician to prepare ingredient batches in line with production schedules and specifications. You will operate industrial mixing equipment, handle materials, and uphold GMP, 5S/6S, and safety standards to maintain product quality and a clean, organized workspace.

This role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and flexible hours including overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic understanding of GMP, food safety, and sanitation practices.
• Familiarity with 5S or 6S workplace organization principles.
• Ability to perform basic math and read measurement devices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor industrial mixing machines according to SOPs and production requirements.
• Prepare and measure ingredients accurately based on batch recipes or formulas.
• Load, mix, and discharge product batches while ensuring proper mixing times and consistency.
• Ensure all materials are properly labeled, placed, and stored to prevent cross-contamination and material loss.
• Perform pre-operation and post-operation checks on mixing equipment and report malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Follow GMP guidelines and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in mixing and ingredient staging areas.
• Participate in 5S/6S housekeeping to sustain a clean, organized workspace.
• Document lot numbers, weights, and quantities on batch records and production logs.
• Assist in inventory control by reporting material usage and discrepancies.
• Perform routine sanitation of equipment and work area per food safety standards.
• Adhere to safety rules and wear PPE.
• Communicate with team, supervisors, and QA to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
• Lift and move materials up to 50 pounds regularly.
