Job summary

Mennel Milling Company in Newton, NC is seeking a full-time production worker to support the dry mix delivery and packaging workflow. The role requires adherence to food safety standards and a willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow all food safety and sanitation rules (GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, FSIS).
• Prepare and supply premix or weighed ingredients for production per standards.
• Meet or exceed processing standards set by the company.
• Work across processing areas and correctly document food safety paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and audit-ready plant.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately to supervision.
• Attend required training sessions; perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY: In this role, you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service . Responsible for efficient delivery of dry mix from processing to packaging. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company.

PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Works shift as assigned and overtime as required.

Employee will be assigned to a 12-hour shift which includes weekends and potential holiday work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation.

• Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
• Prepare and supply premix or hand weighed ingredients for production compliance with company standards while using acceptable Good Manufacturing Practices
• Meet and or exceed processing standards as set by the company
• Work area includes building 1 processing, building 2 processing and print weigh
• Maintain and correctly document food safety paperwork
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and maintain the plant in an everyday audit ready state
• Report any unsafe conditions or actions to company supervision immediately
• Attend all training sessions as required.
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required;
• Must be able to communicate and work with the processing lead person and other processing department employees in order to maximize productivity and minimize off grade product

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one‑on‑one and small group situations to co‑workers, supervisors, and managers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.
