Job description

Cascade West Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join our team in Centralia, WA.

Be the first one they call when something just feels wrong, whether it’s the family dog or a working horse.

At a glance
  • Small animal + 1-2 large animal days a week (about half equine)
  • Scheduled surgery every week, with room to grow into advanced procedures
  • 8 doctors growing to 9; core team together 16 years
  • Shared on-call rotation
  • Starting at $120,000 + production, no negative accrual
About You

You can care for pets throughout every stage of their lives, build lasting relationships with clients, and become a trusted part of the local community. You’ll work alongside a supportive team in a collaborative environment that values high-quality medicine and compassionate care. You’ll be empowered to focus on what matters most, delivering exceptional care and supporting the health and well-being of every patient. Wherever you are in your career, this is a place where you can continue to grow as both a veterinarian and a leader.

Our progressive compensation model includes competitive base salaries with production compensation opportunities - plus, no negative accrual.

You’re willing and able to move between small animal appointments, the surgery suite, and large animal days in the field, and you’re not afraid to ask the question when a case calls for a second opinion.

What Mixed Animal Practice Looks Like Here
  • Real variety: small animal most days, plus 1-2 large animal days a week. About half our large animal work is equine.
  • Every kind of client: farm calls and haul-ins, from working animals to backyard goats.
  • Set up for the field: three equipped trucks, plus a large animal treatment area, barn, and chute system.
  • Surgery every week: 6-8 anesthetic procedures daily, a surgery rotation, and double-doctor Tuesdays.
  • Well equipped: isoflurane and sevoflurane, electrocautery, Bair Hugger, ultrasound, and digital dental radiography.
  • Room to grow: a visiting orthopedic surgeon, and support if you want to build advanced surgical skills.
  • Shared on-call: We share on-call and overnight duties on a rotating schedule
About Cascade West Veterinary Hospital

We’re a mixed animal general practice in Centralia, Washington, caring for small animals, horses, and farm animals, with urgent care and walk-ins when time allows.

Our core group of veterinarians started together nearly 16 years ago, and they stayed. Today, we’re eight doctors growing to nine, supported by about 40 team members. Collaboration is part of our everyday culture: doctors openly share cases, we’ve mentored many new graduates, and we all work out of one large, shared doctors’ office, where \"the answer to your question\" is usually sitting in the chair next to you.

We pride ourselves on our core values: Accountability, empathy, community, and caring. Being quick on your feet, adaptable, and unafraid to ask questions are all equally important.

Centralia sits between Seattle and Portland, with Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, and the Olympic Peninsula’s rainforests within reach. Add great seafood, a historic downtown, a farmers market, and bigger-city shopping about 30 minutes away.

We are open Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:30 pm. and Saturday, 8:00 am-2:30 pm, serving Centralia, Chehalis, Adna, Winlock, Vader, Onalaska, and the surrounding Lewis County communities.

At Cascade West Veterinary Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, you will have the support, tools, and resources to elevate your skills. As a hospital deeply rooted in the local community, you will experience the best of both worlds: a genuine local culture with the benefits of Thrive's national resources.
