The Mitigation Sales Specialist is responsible for generating and managing residential mitigation opportunities from the initial customer contact through project authorization. This position focuses on building strong relationships with homeowners, insurance professionals, property managers, and referral partners while identifying opportunities for water, fire, mold, and other property damage restoration services.
The ideal candidate is a confident, motivated professional who understands the urgency of property damage situations and can effectively communicate the value of professional mitigation services. This role requires excellent customer service, strong sales skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to residential mitigation leads and customer inquiries.
- Meet with homeowners and property representatives to assess their needs and explain available mitigation services.
- Educate customers on the mitigation process, including water extraction, structural drying, contents handling, mold remediation, and related services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with homeowners, insurance adjusters, property managers, plumbers, contractors, and other referral partners.
- Generate new business through networking, referrals, follow-up, community outreach, and relationship development.
- Prepare estimates, proposals, scopes of work, and service agreements as required.
- Clearly communicate project scope, pricing, expectations, and next steps to customers.
- Obtain customer authorization and coordinate the transition of approved projects to the production team.
- Follow up consistently with leads, prospects, customers, and referral partners.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, sales activities, customer communications, and project opportunities.
- Meet or exceed established sales and revenue goals.
- Identify opportunities for additional services while maintaining a customer-first approach.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales and project handoff process.
- Work closely with project managers, technicians, office staff, and management to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Maintain knowledge of industry standards, company procedures, insurance processes, and mitigation services.
- Participate in after-hours or emergency response activities when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in restoration, mitigation, construction, insurance, home services, or residential sales preferred.
- Proven experience in sales, customer service, or business development.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to confidently communicate with homeowners during stressful and time-sensitive situations.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Comfortable using customer relationship management systems, estimating software, email, and other technology.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or emergency situations when needed.
