Job summary

Roswell United Methodist Church Inc in Roswell, GA is seeking a part-time Missions Specialist (20 hours/week). You will lead mission programs, guide the membership, and nurture sustainable partnerships with local and global mission partners.

You will manage budgets and records, coordinate domestic and international trips, and support mission education and communications for the congregation.

Responsibilities

• Establish and carry out a strategic mission plan congruent with UM theology.
• Coordinate congregation-wide mission education and efforts, including Serving Side by Side.
• Maintain relationships with missionaries and agencies; vet partnerships.
• Guide Global Mission Team and committees on mission goals and procedures.
• Equip leaders for short-term trips; coordinate logistics, readiness, and fundraising.
• Assist treasurer in budgeting, disbursement, and recordkeeping for mission funds.
• Manage paperwork for short-term teams and ensure forms and insurance are complete.
• Log donations and balances for trips in Excel; reconcile accounts.
• Oversee communication of mission news and updates on church channels.
• Ensure facilities, food service, transport, and other support for mission activities.
• Maintain mission records and prayer lists; brief pastoral prayer requests.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
