Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Mission Systems Engineering Intern to contribute to the hardware and software that enable high-speed aircraft missions. You will work across avionics, software, and system integration to build, test, and troubleshoot mission capabilities in hands-on projects.

This 16–12 week program (Spring and Summer) offers exposure to HIL, lab testing, and cross-functional collaboration with software, avionics, and flight-test teams. GPA 3.0+ and strong debugging skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on software and hardware integration experience through internships, coursework, or projects.
• Familiarity with TCP/UDP, Ethernet networking.
• Programming experience in C++, Python, or a similar language.
• Experience with embedded systems, avionics, sensors, or hardware-connected systems.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving across hardware and software interfaces.
• Ability to work on multidisciplinary technical teams and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Support integration and testing of mission hardware, software, sensors, radios, processors, and avionics systems.
• Develop and test software for command and control, telemetry, and subsystem interfaces.
• Perform hardware/software bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting in lab, HIL, ground-test, and aircraft environments.
• Support system interfaces, networking, communication protocols, and integration requirements.
• Collaborate with software, avionics, autonomy, communications, and flight-test teams.
• Document test results, technical findings, and system configurations.
